East Kilbride Thistle are delighted to announce that its Soccer School will be starting up soon for the new season. The Soccer School is an early introduction to football for all players, both boys and girls, aged 3 to 6 years old.
Thistle's Football Development Manager Peter Henry said "EK Thistle Soccer School has been running for a number of seasons nows now and has grown from strength to strength. As a club we are fully behind grassroots football, as these young potential players not only learn the skills of the game, from SFA qualified coaches, but also learn life skills, and will hopefully be pulling on the famous EK Thistle top for their club one day."
"Having attended the Soccer School, we have seen that the players already have the basic skills in place, and are eager to learn new skills as they move into a team game. Each year, the Soccer School produces a new boys' Fun Fours team consisting of about 20 players for 7 to 8 year olds. Within the girls side, we have a Development Squad for 8 to 11 years old which again focuses on building a player's skills readying them for 7-a-side football.
"As a club we are looking to give all the opportunity to be involved within a very big Club. If you are interested in becoming a great footballer then why not come along to one of our many coaching sessions?"
The Soccer School sessions start on Sunday 1st August, run every Sunday from 4pm to 5pm at Duncanrig Secondary School, and costs only £2 per session. The girls Development Squad for 8 to 11 years old is at Ballerup Recreation area on Tuesdays from 6pm to 7.30pm.
